Unique objects made of 100% recycled wax and cast aluminium with the Cire Perdu method, lost wax casting

Wax reclaimed from restaurants in and around Malmö, Sweden.

All objects are made from 100% recycled candle wax from restaurants around Malmö, Sweden. The candles are scented with warm, dry and slightly woody natural Black pepper oil as a nod to the restaurant origin of the recycled candles. The wax is poured into cast aluminium jars made with the Cire perdue-method (Lost wax) from dipped wax originals from the same recycled material, giving each object a unique expression from the almost organic growing wax surface. 

The candles in aluminium vessels hold a loop-closing, poetic connection between the different yet kindred materials and processes in this object; the melting and cooling, the recycled and recyclable. Durable forever, hard, cold, hot, soft and volatile.

Meltable side table, vase and burned candelabra.

Wax dipping. Objects are made with traditional and experimental processes of candle making. Our use of candles generate large amounts of leftovers and inspiration comes from the durability of the material contrasting to our use of it.
